Forever21 Necklaces

As mentioned in my previous blog post, here's a wonderful collection of necklaces from Forever21.

I've never really shopped here before, but I'm so glad I've found them now ;) I'm a bit of a necklace hoarder, especially long ones with pendants. I find they're so easy to wear with most of my clothes (generally dresses, leggings, mini skirts and tops).

Here are some of my absolute faves.

Pocket Heart Locket Necklace - £4.80
Aside being an absolute bargain (I think it's in its final sale), this would be perfect with a variety of outfits.

Floral Pocket Locket Necklace - £6.80
If only I could justify this :( it's so so pretty.

Faceted Filigree Necklace - £4.80
At first glance, this looks like a perfume bottle to me, but it's actually a bead.

Floral Pendant Necklace - £5.80
This is really summery/spring to me, it would be gorgeous against something white :)

Porcelain Heart Necklace - £4.80
Similar to the style above, but slightly more romantic in my mind.

Swallow Estate Necklace - £4.80
This is so cute! I'm starting to love jewellery that features birds lately, so this is definitely on my lust list.

Rose Medallion Necklace - £5.80
They also stock this in a bronze colouring with a cream middle (instead of blue), but I love the vibrance on this one.

Victorian Rose Necklace - £6.80
This would look so cute with anything, really. I love the fact that the rose picture is quite neutral, alot of my floral necklaces are quite bright.

Elegant Victorian Necklace - £4.80
I love the general style of this necklace, the rhinestoned bow is adorable, but I'm not entirely sold on the rose picture inside, however, it is still gorgeous :)

If only I had the money to buy those beauties...

I'm considering bringing a collection of long pendant necklaces to Sparklerose Designs as I really do love them. I've had a few different ideas, so we'll see ;)

Which one is your fave? Have you ever bought jewellery from Forever21 before?

First Folksy Sale!

I hope everyone had a delightful weekend :)
We had quite a relaxing one, on Saturday we went out for lunch then had a bit of a film evening. And I work on Sundays... boo :P

But I've officially had my first Folksy sale! I was so excited by this. I've sold items that I've supplied to Milkwood Gallery, and a few pieces online through friends, but getting my first Folksy sale is wonderful :)

It was a piece I didn't even show here because I listed the item and it sold a few hours later.

But I'll definitely be exploring different designs of this bracelet ;)

Secret Garden Tea Party Charm Bracelet

I also made the 'Key To My Heart' charm bracelet, pictured below, which inspired me to make something similar but with a different theme.

Key To My Heart Charm Bracelet

I've got a few different themes in mind, one of which I'll likely end up keeping myself (ahem, naughty) but at the moment I'm waiting on supplies.

I'm also slowly beginning to prepare myself for a stall I'm hoping to do at a local residential home. There's no rush, which is making me feel relaxed about it. Although it's quite scary, I've never done anything like it before. At the moment I'm just playing around with ideas, how to set up the table, what products I'll take with me, etc.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated :D

Next time I'll be writing about some gorgeous Forever21 necklaces I've eyed up ;)

York Designer Outlet & Fabulous Freebie

On saturday, my wonderful boyfriend created a surprise trip for us.

I had no idea where we were going, I just knew it was 1 hour 30 minutes away. I was like a kid on a daytrip, asking if it was places like Leeds, or Manchester that we were going to. He was getting a laugh out of me guessing so much.

Anywho, he took us to the York Designer Outlet, I was so happy & surprised as I'd mentioned wanting to go to the York CCO (cosmetic company outlet).

Back in the day, I remember filling my bed full of make-up and taking a photo of it, alot of it was 'Caboodles' (remember those?) and things that looked and smelled like candy. Oh those were the days. But generally, I'm not a huge make-up person, I don't know good from bad in many cases, but I do dislike this. I'd love to treat myself to the 'posh stuff' and know exactly how to apply it, but I'd be scouring YouTube looking for tutorials :D

But I will admit, I do like MAC make-up, although I can't usually justify the price tag ;)

I was amazed by the CCO, it sold alot of different products, all under the Estee Lauder 'umbrella', including lots of things I'd never heard of before. But my main attraction was the MAC section.

There were plenty of single eyeshadows in various shades, I think they were £8.25. There were also a few duo 'suite' eyeshadows, which I think were also £8.25. There were about 5 different pigments, and about 4 glittered pigments. There were a few dazzleglass lipglosses, a couple of lip gelee tubes. That's what I can remember anyway :)

I spent around £70 on eye and lip goodies, which I will show you :)

Eyeshadow Duo in 'Devil May Care'
Eyeshadow Suite in 'Rose Suites'

Dazzleglass in 'Internationalist'
Lipgelee in 'Slicked Pink'

'Circa Plum', 'Rose' and 'Mutiny' Pigments

I would have tried out some of their face range but the colours there were very dark shades, would've made me look like a plonker ;)

While I was there, I also bought a lovely cardi from Gap, and a birdy print floral top from Next (£4!). We generally got some kitchenware and some Lindt (which seemed to magically disappear saturday night :P)
But it made a great day out for us, especially alot of the male based shops selling suits and shirts. We got home very sleepy and spent the evening watching tv :)

In other news, I also wanted to comment on the News Of The World freebie that's been running for a couple of weeks now. You do need 2 tokens, and I think there's only three chances, but if you do have the tokens lying around, it's worth getting this methinks.

Fabulous, the magazine inside the paper, is doing a Models Own make-up kit for the cost of two papers, which is £2. I went to pick up a kit the other night, and I was pleasantly surprised. It comes with professional-looking tweezers, eyelash curlers, a mascara, a liquid eyeliner and an eyeshadow duo. I haven't tested any of them yet, but I'll let you know what they're like as I try them :)

Here's a picture of what you get inside.

For £2, it's quite alright :) loves bargains!

I've got loads of Sparklerose Designs' newer pieces to write about yet, that'll be in the next post :)

FEATURED: WendyHouse Vintage Tea Party Bracelet

You may have noticed a few changes going on, I'm giving the blog a bit of a make-over :)
I'm considering making a list of fave blogs but there's so many of you it would go on forever. If you'd like to be added though (I must already follow you), then please let me know :)

Anywho, I'm playing catch up with my blog entries. I've had all the ideas sitting in my head, and some of the words jotted down in notepad, but nothing has actually been posted. I'm feeling a bit lazy lately.. :/

************************
A while ago, I wrote about WendyHouse, an intriguing website filled with lovely goodies. You can find the post here.

After meeting with a friend on friday, I was delighted to find this little gem sitting in my post box :D

Wrapped beautifully in candy striped packaging, labelled WendyHouse, inside waiting for me was a gorgeous charm bracelet.

Based on the tea party theme, this bracelet is a popular piece at WendyHouse, and she also has different designs to choose from.

But just in time for spring (hopefully it'll warm up soon!), my lovely new bracelet sits proudly on my jewellery/cake stand.

I wore it out for a shopping trip and found it very comfortable, it's lightweight and so easy to wear, and it goes with most of my wardrobe :D win! It also has an adjustable chain and a cute heart that hangs from it, it just oozes cuteness in pastel form.

FEATURED: Jason Bowen

This is a bit of a different feature for me, considering I normally write about jewellery & girly things, but I do have a passion for art, and I'm a huge fan of his work :)

Enchanted forest with water falling over.

Jason Bowen is a young, multi-talented artist based in Lincoln. He gains his style inspiration from the American artist, Bob Ross, whose style of painting focuses purely on the potential for enjoyment out of painting. Discarding any pompous disposition that can be found with oil painting (in my mind), the style is upbeat and fashionable, and you can pretty much create anything with the techniques.

Evening at sunset.

Jason's pieces illustrate tranquility in a number of forms, be it a mountain scene, or a seascape. His attention to the smallest of detail makes his work look so real, which makes it hard to look away. You want to be right there, experiencing the peace inside the painting.

Curling wave and a few rocks.

His colour palette is so rich and intense, his art would brighten any kind of day. He takes an idea, and freely paints it, without any pencils or guidelines required, creating a scene you could only imagine in a fairytale.

Blaze of Colour.

Jason is now offering painting classes, which is really exciting stuff for us art fans. They're based in Lincoln, and they begin from the 25th January. His classes are priced at £40, and by the end of a day's workshop, you get your very own painting to take home for yourself :)

His aim is to allow us to experience the joy of painting his way, regardless of skill, so even if you've never tried painting before, it's still ideal for you.

Jason's work can currently be viewed and purchased at the In Vitro gallery in Lincoln.

Drop him an email at jasonbpaint@gmail.com for more information on his classes or upcoming exhibitions :)

Shopping & Jewellery Find

I decided to get myself a bit of retail therapy yesterday. I would take pictures of my finds but I need some batteries :D

I got a lovely floral dress and burgundy wedge heels from New Look (both £5 each!), I got a couple of things in Accessorize 70% off, and I got myself some new underwear :D it was generally a successful trip.

I was very keen to browse the jewellery rails, as I usually am. It makes great research, to see what's popular, what's 'in' at the moment.

♥ I saw extra long pendant necklaces, with really small pendants. I'm not entirely sure I like this look.
♥ I noticed loads of xlarge rings, especially the ones with two rings in one.
♥ I saw plenty of charm necklaces, these still seem to be very much in fashion.
♥ I also noticed plenty of hippy-esque bracelets, which seems almost unusual to me given the time of year.

I did treat myself to two rings: one lilac rhinestone hat, and a coral rose. Apart from that, I was very good :D

********************************
Anywho, the other thing I was keen to write about, my find from the other night :)

I came across an online shop called WendyHouse, "the home of lovely and unusual things". Of course this intrigued me, so I had a little shop around, and wow, very lovely :D

They sell a range of jewellery and hair accessories, focusing mostly on jewellery though. Here's some of my faves.

Joy Pendant - £9.00
This would look gorgeous adding some detail to a simple outfit.

One Flew Over Earrings - £7.00
These earrings are so cute & effective, and I love the blue & gold colouring.

Hey Sailor! Bracelet - £7.00
This cute charm bracelet appeals to my nautical side :)

Gothic Rose Earrings - £5.50
The red have currently sold out but the black are still available
They would look lovely with that little black dress

Don't forget to enter the giveaway! Deadline is 18th january, so there's a little while yet :)

FEATURED: Room Eleven

Room Eleven was created by Ellie just under a year ago, offering beautiful yet affordable sparkly jewellery pieces, fit for all occasions. Originally derived from a hospital stay, Ellie's skill and passion for jewellery making arose, and now she finds herself crafting a range of items.

Her inspiration comes from history and art, particularly the glitz and glamour of 1920s fashion. This is illustrated in her Purple Tone Metallic Rainbow Bracelet, shown below.

This is for sale on Folksy for £3.00, which is very reasonable. It would look great with any type of outfit.

Ellie also loves using pre-loved antique findings, that make her pieces unique.

But my favourite piece has got to be her Sparkly Amethyst and Silver Bracelet, which appeals to my sparkly side ;)

It's so pastel and cute, it would fit with most of my wardrobe. It's also elasticated and would suit all kinds of wrist sizes.

Besides offering her excellently handcrafted jewellery, she also accepts commissions, so if there is that special something you can't find yourself, she may be able to make it for you.

Peacock blue & turquoise earrings

You can find her on Folksy here, and her blog is here :)
